Research reveals Shocking figures about Lebanese immigration
Due to the economic crisis in the country, Lebanon witnessed a big increase in the number immigrants and travellers in 2021, this increase reaches %346 according to a research.
The research which was published by Lebanese Firm "Information International" today, showed that the number of travellers in 2021 touched 79k. In comparison to 2020, the number was 17,721.
The research attributed this shocking rise to worsening financial and economic crisis, the low level of services, the high prices and erosion of purchase power which pushed many Lebanese young people to immigrate and look for job opportunities.
Lebanese authorities haven't commented on the figures mentioned in the study yet.
In last June, World Bank described the crisis in Lebanon as "the most severe crisis in the world"; classified the crisis among the worst three crisis since the mid-nineteen century.
Lebanese pound ( lira) value kept stable in return to the U.S. dollar for more than 25 years, touched the limits of 1515, but it has been deteriorated gradually since 2019 affected by the political and economical issues.
